Who OMAD may not be appropriate for
One Meal A Day (OMAD) and other intermittent-fasting protocols are not suitable for everyone. Do not use this app without explicit clearance from a qualified clinician if you fall into any of the following groups:
- Minors under 18 (the app is not available to anyone under 18).
- Pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
- People with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or blood-sugar regulation disorders.
- People with a personal or family history of eating disorders, or in recovery.
- People taking medications that depend on food timing (insulin, certain blood-pressure or thyroid medications, immunosuppressants, etc.).
- People with chronic kidney, liver, gallbladder, or pancreatic disease.
- People recovering from surgery, illness, or significant weight loss.
- Competitive athletes with high caloric demands.
- Older adults at risk of sarcopenia or unintended weight loss.
When in doubt, talk to a registered dietitian or your primary-care physician before starting.
Nutrition estimates
Nutrition coverage shown in Quoteal is calculated from USDA FoodData Central data where available. USDA data is the best public-domain food composition database, but it is an average. Individual ingredients vary by variety, ripeness, region, and preparation. When USDA data is unavailable for an ingredient, coverage is shown as “data unavailable”. We never invent or estimate nutrient values.
Bloodwork feature (Pro)
The Bloodwork feature adjusts your nutrient targets based on values you enter from a lab panel. The following are important to understand:
- This is not a medical assessment. Reference ranges shown are typical lab ranges, not clinical thresholds.
- We do not diagnose conditions or use diagnostic terminology.
- The 75-day re-test nudge is informational only.
- Discuss any flagged values with a qualified clinician. Do not start, stop, or change any medication or supplement based on what Quoteal displays.
Ingredient substitutions (Pro)
The substitution suggestions filter out your declared allergens at every step. Even so, you remain responsible for double-checking ingredient labels and verifying that a substitute is safe for you to eat. Cross-contamination, hidden ingredients in processed foods, and personal sensitivities are outside the scope of this tool.
Cost estimates
Meal cost estimates are based on national US grocery prices, hand-curated at seed time and adjusted monthly using the Bureau of Labor Statistics food CPI. Your actual cost will vary based on region, retailer, organic/conventional choices, and seasonal availability. Estimates should be treated as budget guidance, not exact prices.
AI-generated content
Recipe instructions, “why this works” copy, and ingredient substitutions are produced by AI models. Meal photos are AI-generated illustrations of the dish concept and may not reflect the exact appearance of your prepared meal. Always use standard food-safety practices: cook proteins to safe internal temperatures, wash produce, store leftovers promptly, and discard anything that looks or smells off.
