Terms of service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Quoteal. By creating an account you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. The Service is not available to anyone previously suspended or removed.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account secure: choosing a strong password, not sharing your credentials, and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.

You agree to provide accurate information during onboarding and to keep it updated. The meal-planning logic relies on accurate weight, height, allergies, and other inputs; inaccurate information may produce unsafe or inappropriate plans.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Free tier

The free tier allows one meal plan per calendar month, basic recipe cards, basic shopping list, a limited nutrition preview, and one deterministic ingredient substitution per request.

Pro monthly ($25 / month)

Pro subscriptions auto-renew each month until canceled. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access until then.

Lifetime founder offer ($49)

The lifetime offer is a one-time payment that grants Pro-tier access for as long as Quoteal operates as a consumer product. “Lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the Service, not the lifetime of the user. We reserve the right to discontinue the Service or change its scope; in the event of a material reduction or discontinuation, lifetime members will be given reasonable advance notice.

Payment processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see, store, or process your card or banking details. Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern the handling of your payment information.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices in the future. Existing Pro monthly subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect and may cancel before the new price applies. The lifetime founder price is locked in for members who purchased before any change.

4. Refunds and cancellations

See the full Refund Policy for details. Summary:

• Pro monthly: cancel anytime; no refunds for partial months. You retain access through the end of the paid period.
• Lifetime founder offer: refundable in full within 7 days of purchase by emailing hello@quoteal.com. Non-refundable after 7 days.

5. License and content

Quoteal grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial meal planning.

Your content (the profile data, meal plans, pantry items, bloodwork values, and notes you create) belongs to you. You grant Quoteal a limited license to store and process this content solely to provide the Service.

Our content (the curated meal library, recipe text, AI-generated meal photos, prompt templates, and the codebase) is owned by Quoteal. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or scrape it without our written permission. Exporting your own plan as a PDF for personal use is fine.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purpose.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Run automated scrapers, bots, or load-testing tools against the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract proprietary algorithms.
• Resell, sublicense, or republish Quoteal content without permission.
• Use the Service to provide professional nutritional, medical, or dietetic advice to others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Health disclaimer

Quoteal is for nutrition planning and education only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. See our full Disclaimer for details, including who should consult a clinician before using the Service, the limits of our nutrition estimates, and the scope of the Bloodwork feature.

8. No warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF DATA. Quoteal does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that nutrition, cost, or recipe information will be accurate or complete. You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUOTEAL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR HEALTH OUTCOMES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. QUOTEAL'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID QUOTEAL IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (b) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limits on certain damages, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Quoteal from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using Quoteal at any time. You can delete your account in one click from Settings → Danger zone; the deletion is immediate and cascades to your profile, meal plans, pantry, bloodwork data, and any active Stripe subscription.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the integrity of the Service. We will provide reasonable notice unless doing so would frustrate the purpose of the termination.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced by email to active subscribers at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and, where applicable, the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@quoteal.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If we cannot resolve it within 60 days, either party may pursue formal dispute resolution.

Arbitration. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a neutral arbitration body in Delaware, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if eligible. The arbitrator's award will be final and enforceable.

Class action waiver. You and Quoteal agree to resolve disputes only on an individual basis. Class actions, class arbitrations, and representative proceedings are not permitted.

14. Miscellaneous

• If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in full effect.
• Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and Quoteal.
• You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
